I found it a bit tricky to locate the thread posting area. It may also be a bit difficult for new arrivals.. Is there a way to improve this part?

I agree, but once I used the forum a few minutes I realized I can post a new thread by going into any category, or by clicking on any post.

We will look into it, but it may simply be a practice thing--like getting down the application of DrybagSteak!
