I'm thinking the best bet may be to open the bag, give it a whiff...and if it passes, re-bag and move it indoors?

I probably missed the refrigerator discussion on the instructions, focused on the sealing process. My bad.

If the meat is rotting you would be able to smell it through the bag. No need to open it to be sure.
