Tastes the same as regular steak? was created by Jnanh
I dry aged a 2 inch thick steak for 30 days and the steak tastes exactly the same as a regular steak would.

Any advice on this?

Trying to age individual pieces is never a good trial for dry aging meat. In fact it is just a waste of meat.

I was following Guga's single steak challenge video where he dry aged a single steak for 2 weeks.

I understand that there is a lot of waste with a single dry aged steak but it didnt taste any beefier or different at all.

Interesting results. Guga’s video Demonstrates something we do not recommend—both aging an individual steak and aging for only 14 days.
Your results evidently prove it to be a pointless waste of both good steak and costly process aid.
What will you try next?

Well I also have whole 10 pound pieces of ribeye being dry aged for 50 days. Hopefully that will taste like proper dry aged beef more than the 30 day single steak

b) What is "guga"? Someone else mentioned this to me. Google didn't answer my question.
