Should I Re-bag?? was created by Reic0085
I had to use a paper towel buffer to seal my last prime rib as I lost my foam vac sealer inserts. The seal wasn’t great and now after 10 days I don’t have great contact. My new collection of bags arrived today and I am debating cutting out the prime rib and re-bagging. If I do so, should I :
A) wet the meat and re-bag as-is to get a good deal?
B) open meat, trim of scale and re-bag?
C) Leave it as is in the bag and don’t touch it?

I am starting to see some white flakes around the outer edges where there isn’t good contact. Would love to hear thoughts from the experts!

Thanks!!

The idea of white flakes normally are only tiny chilled fat drops. Personally I would NOT reopen that original bag!
