Does this look OK after 7 days? was created by whopido
Hi, I packaged a large boneless rib eye a week ago. I tied it with string before sealing because it flattened a lot by its own weight if I didn't tie it. Maybe this was a big mistake on my part?

Anyway, here's some pictures of the bag:https://imgur.com/gallery/FGAmmsb

I'm not sure what to make of the areas around the string. Does it look bad?

Thanks in advance
/Johan

It's highly likely that you contaminated that meat with that twine! Your best hope is you will be able to trim down below the mold which appears to have already started.

Thank you, I've resealed it after removing the twine and cutting off any suspicious areas. Now I'll just cross my fingers and wait. I'll update this thread on the result when the meat is done (unless you want to close this thread now ofc).

Thanks anyway,
Johan

Ya that definately doesn't look good.
I think its salvageable but keep a close eye on it.
